ABOUT ME

Hey,

My name is Emilio Quintero, but my friends call me Q! I’m a travel-loving photographer based in Georgia. At a young age I knew I was drawn to creativity. In college, I spent more time doodling on the side of my notes than actually taking them.

In 2022, I spent some time working in the Rio Grande Valley of south Texas, where I learned two things; how to dance and take pictures.

When I bought my first camera I thought I’d use it for vlogging, recording trips with friends to different latin dance festivals across the U.S. But I very quickly realized that I felt more at home behind the camera than in front of it. As I travelled more, photography became less about documenting and more about storytelling. Along the way, I met incredible people, explored new styles, and built a portfolio that reflects that journey.

Today, my style leans towards natural light, candid emotions, and unposed storytelling. I truly enjoy capturing the ‘in-between” moments; the ones that feel effortless but say everything. I believe the best photos are the ones that make you feel something, as if you’re living the moment all over again.

If I’m not holding a camera, you’ll probably find me at outside by a fire, at a local coffee shop with friends, or planning my next adventure. My love for traveling started in 2015 when I joined the National Guard. From being sent to work along the midwest, to the mountainous regions of the balkans, I grew fascinated with the new scenery and the people I met along the way.

Since then, I’ve watched the beautiful sunsets on the California coast, eaten pastas on the Almafi Coast and stood beneath the lights of Times Square and the northern lights in Finland. As fun as it is to explore new parts of the world and crossing off bucket list items, my favorite memories will always be the ones shared with people I love, like when my best friends’ kids finally started calling me Uncle Q.

Beyond the lens

Hop In The Q

Photography, to me, is more than just taking the picture, it’s about the connection. It’s about all the in-between moments that are just as important as the big moment. From the soft smile of a mother as she fixes her daughter’s wedding dress, to the rowdiness of toddlers as their parents try to get them to smile at the camera, everyone has a story. My goal is to use my lens to frame that story.
